Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a 22 years old 2025 nautical studies graduate from Spain with experience studying abroad and looking for a start in my career at sea and also getting my diploma. I am writing to express my interest in the deck cadet program. I am well-qualified for the position and I am interested in acquiring experience as a seafarer to cement a good base for my career as I want it to be an international one. I heard about Spliethoff through a colleague on the tugboat I’m currently on and I was extremely impressed about the capacity of the company to reach worlwide and develop talents, increasing my interest to pursue a professional trajectory there.

After a year of living abroad I’ve gained skills in teamwork, communication with people from different places, learning under pressure and problem solving while taking the initiative. As part of my experience in other countries i have reinforced my english skills and my sense of respect to my superiors since I am constantly learning from them. Also, I have a deep knowledge in the use of advanced technology in the maritime field since I passed a course of “Shipbuilding and Industry 4.0” offered by the University of La Coruña in which my comprehension of how seafarer can get along and make good use of new systems and hardwares increased.

I am passionate about starting my career as a seafarer in any part of the world and any type of ship. I take pride on my skills, communication, learning capacity and respect towards my colleagues and superiors. I note that Spliethoff values these same ideals and I am willing to do whatever it takes in order to get an opportunity so I can use my abilities in service of the company.
