The 10th annual Maritime Standard Tanker Conference 2025 will take place on Thursday, 30th October at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, and an impressive line-up of speakers has now been confirmed for Session 2 in the afternoon.
With the theme “Tanker shipping negotiates challenging market headwinds”, the conference will explore headline market trends in the crude, products, chemical, and gas tanker sectors. Discussions will address key commercial, geopolitical, and technical challenges, along with sustainability imperatives, technological innovation, and the evolving range of services required to support the global tanker industry.
Session 2, themed “Boosting operational efficiency while maintaining a focus on green shipping”, will examine the practical challenges faced by tanker shipowners and operators in daily operations. Topics will include adapting to environmental regulations, leveraging advances in digitalisation and AI, and tackling seafarer welfare and vessel safety concerns.
Speakers for this session represent a diverse range of sectors, including classification, maritime insurance, law, finance, bunker supply, ship management, ship agency, security, and maritime technology. The session will be led by Ali Shehab, Global Director of Special Projects and Services, DNV, one of the most respected figures in regional shipping and maritime. He will be joined by:
