As momentum builds around rebuilding America’s maritime industrial base, Senator Todd Young (R-IN), co-sponsor of the landmark SHIPS for America Act, will deliver special remarks during SHIPPINGInsight’s May 20th leadership roundtable, “Revitalizing the American Maritime Industry: Next Steps,” presented in partnership with AMIC – American Maritime Industrial Coalition as part of National Maritime Week.
The event will take place at ABS offices in Washington, DC, bringing together leaders across government, industry, energy, shipbuilding, workforce development, and maritime innovation for a focused discussion on what comes next for the American maritime sector.
Senator Young has become one of the leading voices behind bipartisan efforts to restore America’s maritime competitiveness through investments in shipbuilding capacity, maritime workforce development, supply chain resilience, and U.S.-flag shipping. His involvement in the SHIPS for America Act has positioned maritime revitalization as both an economic and national security priority at a critical moment for the United States.
May 20th will focus on translating policy momentum into operational execution and investment opportunities across the maritime industry. The agenda includes keynote remarks from Maritime Administrator Stephen Carmel, and discussions surrounding MARAD’s pillars for maritime innovation and revitalization, led by RADM James Watson of the United States Coast Guard, (Ret) and featuring leaders from government and industry, including:
