    The Josemaria project is being developed as a large-scale open-pit mining operation located in San Juan Province, Argentina.
  • El PACHÓN (US$ 4.5 B) – COPPER – Glencore PLC.
    The project aims to produce an average of 350,000 tonnes per year of copper over a projected mine life of 25 years. El Pachón is in the feasibility stage, with ongoing efforts to finalise a robust Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and assess development options.
  • LAMA (US$ 1.2 B) – GOLD – Barrick Gold Corporation.
    Barrick plans to spend $136 million to definitively close the Pascua-Lama project, which includes adapting the closure phase to restore environmental conditions.
  • CALCATREU (US$ 1.6 B) – GOLD – Patagonia Gold.
    Located in Río Negro Province, Patagonia Gold is finalizing studies to establish a heap leach operation aimed at producing gold and silver doré from Calcatreu.
  • ESPERANZA II (US$ 1.2 B) – SILVER – Southern Copper Argentina.
    The company has earmarked substantial capital for the development of this project. In 2025, Southern Copper is expected to invest approximately $3.5 billion across its operations, with a focus on expanding its copper production capabilities, including projects like Esperanza II.
