The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) is pleased to announce that Captain Daniel Cost, Director of Inspections and Compliance with the United States Coast Guard will address NAMEPA’s Annual Conference on October 29th 2026, in New York City.
Held under the theme, “Balancing Commerce and Conservation”, NAMEPA’s Annual Conference will bring together leaders from across the maritime industry, government, and environmental community to explore the challenges and opportunities facing the maritime sector and the shared responsibility to protect the marine environment.
Captain Cost will deliver “U.S. Coast Guard Perspective: Protecting America’s Maritime Domain,” addressing the Coast Guard’s perspective on the maritime domain as conference participants consider how commerce, safety, innovation, and environmental protection intersect.
The conference program will feature discussions on challenges facing maritime operations, innovation in action, and leadership across the maritime community, providing opportunities for attendees to engage with industry leaders and explore the evolving role of maritime commerce in a changing global environment.
The day will conclude with NAMEPA’s Annual General Meeting, followed by a cocktail reception and dinner program featuring the presentation of the NAMEPA Marine Environment Protection Awards (MEP Awards).
The MEP Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose leadership, innovation, and commitment have made meaningful contributions to marine environment protection. These awards will be presented during the evening program, bringing together members of the maritime community to celebrate achievements in protecting our oceans and waterways.
